Josip later became a member of the branch of the Association of Croatian Craftsmen and the father of two sons, one of whom also studied to become a medic, following his father's example. Being responsible for the existence of the Koprivnica trade, Josip Sulimanović is mentioned in the registry books of the Đurđeva parish as a "physician in Koprivnica".
